Rules

Each card costs its price in coins and hides nine symbols. Three of the same symbol anywhere on the card wins the amount that symbol is worth. Cards never hold more than one winning set, and losing cards never contain three of anything.

The honest numbers

Each card's result is drawn from the table above before you scratch anything, the same way real instant tickets are printed with fixed odds. Add it up and 39.9% of cards pay something, while the long-run return is 92.5% of the card price. Scratching order changes nothing — but nobody scratches a ticket for efficiency.
